SHRP 2 Safety Project S04-A: Geographic Information System (GIS) Developer/Manager for SHRP 2 Roadway Information Database
Budget and Project Duration: TBD—announced 7/28
Project Manager: Charles Fay
On July 28, 2009, the Strategic Highway Research Program 2 (SHRP 2) of the Transportation Research Board will release a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Project S04-A. The primary goal of the project is to produce an interoperable, scalable GIS that captures the road environment in each SHRP 2 Naturalistic Driving Study site. Proposers should have significant experience with GIS: planning and requirements analysis, database design, system design, system integration, application development, data collection (including mobile data collection), data conversion, data development, conflation, data security, and implementation planning and assistance. Proposers should also be able to demonstrate experience with roadway and/or roadside information in both GIS and linear referencing systems (LRS). For more information about SHRP 2 and to view the RFP after July 28, please visit www.TRB.org/SHRP2.
The pre-bid conference will provide an opportunity for potential proposers to learn more about the project and to ask questions. The presenter will be Charles Fay, SHRP 2 Senior Program Officer for the Safety focus area.
Potential proposers will also be able to attend the conference in person in room 109 of the Keck Center of the National Academy of Sciences. Directions are available at http://www.nationalacademies.org/about/contact/nax.html.
