This is a relatively new site that seeks to provide users of GIS data with pointers to GIS data sites from around the United States.  Shapefile connection uses Google Maps as an interface to display sources of GIS data geographically.  The site is relatively new, with the greatest concentration of GIS related data sites currently located in California.  Visitors can also browse through lists of the data sources by clicking on the “Regions Mapped” menu item.  Sites that want to be listed should send the details of their data depository to the contact information located on the site.
