Quick Bits: News from GooLand


In the world of Google Maps, New York City Subway lines are now available as part of the NYC transit routes.  Google set the cloud aflutter when The Telegraph posted an article about the mysterious and mythical town of Argleton.  The fictitious town exists only on Google Maps and marks an empty field.  No one at Google or their data provides could explain where the phantom map came from.  Verizon debuted the Droid which completes completed with a free Turn-by-Turn Navigation System and Google Maps (review by Consumer Reports).  Peter Batty weighs in on the recent source data map change of Google with his post “Was the Google data change a big mistake?
