OpenData

The British Ordnance Survey has launched OpenData where visitors can view and download geographic data.  The web site was developed as the result of select Ordnance Survey data being made freely available to the public as the result of a protracted battle by the “Free Our Data” coalition.  The report on the future direction of the Ordnance Survey and details about data will be made available is entitled “Policy options for geographic information from Ordnance Survey.”  The UK Independent wrote about the release in their article “OS maps: No.1 in the charts since 1747.” (Via Maps-L)
