My World GIS
My World GIS is a full-featured GIS designed for educational use. My World provides a carefully selected subset of the features of a professional GIS environment. These features include multiple geographic projections, table and map views of data, distance-measurement tools, buffering and query operations, customizable map display. They have been selected to provide the greatest value to students without overwhelming them with complexity The features are accessed through a supportive interface designed with the needs of students and teachers in mind.

We are migrating from ArcView to My World for our elementary and junior high school students, training their teachers with a college course.
Our “My World” program now includes more than 650 students and has added 11 new data libraries.
My World Version 5 has been released. We have expanded our work in historical GIS at the 8th grade level with specialties in the Revolutionary War, Lewis & Clark Expedition, Westward Expansion and the Civil War. Our data sets now include federal censuses for 1790, 1800, 1840 and 1860.
We have been awarded a $10,000 grant to place the latest generation of the interactive whiteboards in our social studies classrooms to allow access to GIS lessons on a daily basis.
