Web pages of GIS support groups. Find a local user group near you. These meetings are great ways to network and discuss GIS issues with others in the field.

GISMO
GISMO is New York Metropolitan Area’s largest GIS users group, with over 400 members from city, state and federal agencies, non-profit organizations and the private sector. GISMO meetings are held every six weeks at the Fund for the City of New York, 121 Sixth Avenue, Sixth Floor.

Florida ESRI Users Group (FEUG)
The Florida ESRI Users Group (FEUG) was formed to promote understanding, exchange ideas, and help solve problems in the GIS community, specifically for ESRI software users. The group consists of nearly 600 members comprised of all levels of users and in all industries. Members of FEUG enjoy the opportunity to improve their GIS skills through networking, presentations, and roundtable discussion opportunities. Membership is free.

Houston Area Arc User’s Group
The Houston Area Arc User’s Group is a an organization of approximately 500 ESRI users in the Greater Houston area that meet regularly to network, learn, and share information.

Intergraph GeoSpatial Users Community
Online user forum hosted by Intergraph. Get information about networking with other users as well as User Conference information.

Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals
The Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals (KAMP) promotes networking with professionals involved in mapping and geospatial technologies and the opportunity for them to exchange ideas and experiences; address common problems and concerns; obtain advice; participate in specialized training and education; and gain recognition as qualified and competent mapping professionals.

Long Island
GIS user group meeting for Long Island, New York.

Maine GIS User Group
Information on meetings, bylaws and newletters for Maine.

New York City
New York City Arc user group. Support group for users of ESRI products.

Pine to Prairie
The Pine to Prairie GIS User Group is open to anyone in Minnesota, the Dakotas and beyond. The web site features a Bulletin Board System for users to post questions, answers and other information that would be helpful for GIS users.

SoCalGIS
GIS User Group for local government agencies in Southern California serving the Los Angeles and Orange County area.

South East Texas Arc User Group
The South East Texas Arc User Group serves GIS professionals throughout an area that includes Jefferson, Orange, Hardin, Jasper, Tyler, Liberty, and Chambers counties.

      Do you guys have a protocol for use of you GIS related to who can and cannot make permanent changes to the database? We are trying to develop a protocol for the city here…………thanks! John
