GPhone – Linux and GPS ready
Mark “Rizzn” Hopkins has the rumor mill buzzing (link no longer available) with his post detailing conversations with a mystery Google person on an emerging phone from Google that will run on Linux, be GPS powered and far less expensive than Apple’s iPhone. Rizzn talks more in detail on his weekly podcast (link no longer available) about what he knows.
He [secret Google Man] said that the Google (applications) Suite is going to play a huge role in the usability of the GPhone, and the thought process behind it’s functionality is less about beating the iPhone and more about beating the $100 Laptop, which provides a huge clue behind what will be the pricing structure on this.
