Call for women role models

From Sophia Teper:

I’m working with the CalWomenTech Project for California
Community Colleges to promote recruitment and retention of women in
male-dominated programs, such as GIS. One of the ways in which we’re
assisting the women in these programs is through Role Model Panels.
I’m looking for panelists to participate in our upcoming panels.

The topics are listed below:

1) Creating Female Allies in Your Male Dominated Field
2) Creating Male Allies in Your Male Dominated Field
3) Finding a Mentor
4) Overcoming an Unfriendly Work Environment

The panel happens online through our Yahoo! Group –WomenTech Talk–
and all you would need to do is write an opening statement (I’d
provide you with more direction than just the topic titles, of
course), then check your email once a day for a week to respond to
user questions or comments and finish with a brief closing statement
at the end. The first panel would take place on December 10th and the
rest would follow on a monthly basis. I really hope that I can get
several replies back, as we have many women in GIS that will be
participating.  Please reply to me at sophiat@iwitts.com.
